Lost Person Behaviour Registration

The workshop offers the participant an unique opportunity to learn about the most recent advances in lost person behaviour, the latest research, new behavioural profiles, and correct life-saving actions to take when a subject disappears.  The training is aimed at both law enforcement personnel and search and rescue personnel who may be responsible for the initial response and subsequent search. Participants will learn how to apply the bike model, use the Search Wheel, understand new survivability tables, learn new methods to look at lost person behaviour. Field personnel will also gain important insight into the nature of lost person behaviour. The course covers a review of lost person behaviour, the new International Search and Rescue Incident Database (ISRID) which now contains 50,000 ground SAR cases, an introduction to eco-regions, psychology of the lost, POA models and artificial intelligence, Alzheimer's disease, despondents, wheels in the woods (bikes, ATVs), winter sports (snowboarders, snowmobiles, alpine and Nordic skiers), urban statistics, and several additional new profiles. New research is now available on lost vehicles, subjects who leave vehicles and missing aircraft.  The course will be instructed by Robert J. Koester, a recognized leader in lost person behaviour searches. Participants will receive copy of Lost Person Behavior textbook and workbook.

The class is limited to 35 students due to the interactive nature of the presentation and case studies.  Be sure to register as soon as possible.

Costs: $100 (US)  Price includes copy of Lost Person Behavior textbook and workbook. Able to accept credit cards prior to and at the conference, cash (US and CN$ at the conference), purchase orders accepted from government agencies but payment must be in US$.
